We continue to encounter new and exciting ways that churches are using their buildings. One great example is at Christ Church, Bebington, on the Wirral. Having removed a small number of pews at the back of their Grade II listed church, a new library and reading area has been developed. The new flexibility offered allows for many other uses already, including small meetings and social events.
The church made use of our free no obligation sample service, and the A1LSE chair was selected as being both appropriate for the building and at the right comfort level to sit and read. Making use of bespoke UK manufacturing, the frames of the chairs were stained to match tables and bookcases, also from Alpha Furniture. A small number of existing chairs were also reupholstered in the same finish, and tie in perfectly with the new furniture.
Helen Byrne who headed up the project for the new furniture commented:
“Your furniture has transformed the area at the back of our church in Higher Bebington into a much more useable space. We have been able to host regular Book Clubs, discussion groups, support groups, craft groups and small social events in recent months which would previously have been impossible. The new and refurbished chairs are so comfortable that some of our congregation prefer to sit on them during Sunday services! We are all absolutely delighted with the quality of each piece of furniture and have already ordered two more bookcases.
“Thank you for your support and prompt service.”
