Blackhall St Columba’s Church in Edinburgh has recently completed a £1.1m, 2 year renovation. This will transform how they serve their community.
Crucial to the effectiveness of the project was the right stacking church chair. They sensibly bought two styles of chair – a main chair and a backup chair.
The main chairs are still able to stack – our LDL wooden stacking chair. The backup, or overflow, chairs are our SB2M high-stacking lightweight chairs, finished in the same fabric.
Of course before either chair was selected, the church embarked on a thorough evaluation process. By utilising Alpha’s free, no obligation, face-to-face sample service, the church were able to borrow a number of chairs and seek feedback from the congregation. We were also able to guide them through the various optional extras: book storage, floor protection, linking, frame finishes and more. Also crucial were to know how to transport the chairs, and how many should be acquired with arms, both subjects that we could guide them on.
Alpha Furniture are able to quote for almost any upholstery, but in this case the church sourced their own fabric – also an option that we are happy to quote for.
Now with quality, comfortable stacking chairs in place, the church is now even more welcoming, and of course has the flexibility that the old pews could not provide.
